The result
After several translations on translate.wordpress.org, my contribution to the Astra theme is complete. All submitted strings are now visible on my public profile and are attributed to my username, smendez09.
My Contribution
I translated several sections of the Astra theme, including header settings, customizer options, dashboard labels, and feature descriptions. Each string went through the same translation process: reading the original English, understanding the context, writing a natural Spanish translation, preserving the variables and HTML tags, and submitting it as a suggestion.
All translations are currently in “pending” status, meaning they are awaiting review by a translation editor on the translation team. Once approved, they will be included in the official Costa Rican Spanish version of Astra, available to all WordPress users in Costa Rica.

The final post will be a reflection on the entire process, what I learned, what I would do differently, and how this experience relates to the global WordPress community.
